Ouch. Its painful enough that you tried to throw a touchdown pass to widen your teams early lead, tossed an incompletion instead and then got pounded to the turf by a hard-charging NFL linebacker.
But perhaps there would be a reprieve for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.
As he started to rise to his feet toward the end of the second quarter Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, the man who just knocked Palmer down Clay Matthews offered his hand apparently to help up the Cardinal signal-caller.
But it was an illusion.
As Palmer went to grab Matthews hand, the Green Bay veteran pulled it back and turned and walked away.
Heres how it looked on video:

If Clay though this would rattle Carson, he was mistaken. The Arizona QB threw a TD pass on the very next play, and may have given the Cards added motivation as they went on to shellack the Pack 38-8.
Matthews is an NFL great with a ring, who will likely grace Canton one day, and Palmer is having an MVP season after being injured last year. So some on Twitter are saying Matthews move lacked class or respect.
Then again, Green Bay had a nightmare game with a division on the line, so clearly Clay was not in a generous mood.
What do you think of Matthews psych move?
