Both the future and past first ladies have been in the media a lot lately, but for very different reasons.
Personally, I think Melania will make a great First Lady, and she surely will be MUCH better than the disastrous reign of Michelle Obama! But I really want to hear what you guys think. So, I have put together a few points to help you make your decision.
Melania was born in 1970 and had a very successful modeling career. Some of her racier photos have been the subject of slimy ads recently, and was the fuel for the most recent battle between Trump and Cruz.
She is involved with numerous charities, most notably The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Police Athletic League. Melania has also won an award from the American Red Cross.
Donald and Melania were married in 2005 and she has been by his side faithfully ever since. Even when she has come under recent scrutiny, she has shown nothing but class, epitomizing everything we think of when characterizing a First Lady.
Michelle Obama was born in 1964 and is the first African-American First Lady. She was very active in campaigning for her husband during his first run at the White House and even gave the keynote address at the 2008 convention.
Her acceptance into Princeton University was plagued with controversy. Many people believe she was admitted only as her brother’s legacy or due to affirmative action even though she graduated from high school as a member of the National Honor Society and the salutatorian of her class.
She has come under constant scrutiny as the First Lady. Michelle Cottle attacked her in 2013 calling her a “feminist nightmare.” Her elaborate and costly vacations have also been the topic of debate among Americans, especially with the state of the economy.
Her legacy program, HHFKA (Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act) has been a complete disaster. The program is failing on many levels, but the biggest complaint is coming from the children themselves. They simply do not like the food on the menu and often come home from school hungry, quite the opposite of what this plan was supposed to accomplish.
